James is an up and coming composer and orchestrator for the media, specialising in orchestral scores for film, television and video games.

With experience scoring to various briefs, picture and live ensembles, he has a wealth of experience in crafting music for many contexts. Most comfortable with orchestral and chamber music, James has also writtten for contemporary rock/metal bands, jazz groups, and choirs.

In 2021, he participated in the Regards Croisés programme, hosted by the International Film Festival of Aubagne. He worked within a group to write and produce score for a short film, that was performed alongside the image at a ciné-concert by a live chamber ensemble.

James has been involved in a number of musical projects, most recently playing bass guitar and writing for the prog-rock band Emperor Norton. He also has a number of chamber works published through Forton Music.

Having meandered through the worlds of theoretical physics and software engineering, he eventually studied composition and orchestration with Thinkspace Education.
